Hope In The Holidays
Welcome to Hope in the Holidays, a Devotional born from the deepest places of my heart. My name is Shonta Rogers, and like many of you, I’ve walked through the unbearable pain of losing someone I loved dearly. After the passing of my husband of 20 years, I find myself navigating a holiday season that no longer feels joyful, but instead heavy with grief and longing. There are moments—when the lights seem too bright and the world seems to move on without me—I discovered a need for a space where others like me could find comfort, connection, and hope.
Hope in the Holidays exists to be that space for you.
This Devotional is for anyone carrying the weight of loss and wondering how to make it through the season when everything around you feels different. Whether you’re grieving a spouse, child, parent, sibling, or dear friend, this is a place where your pain is acknowledged, your journey is honored, and your heart is gently encouraged.
My Mission
My mission is to provide Christ-centered comfort, practical tools, and spiritual encouragement to help you navigate your grief during the holiday season. We believe that God is close to the brokenhearted and that even in the darkness of loss, His light can bring hope and healing.
What We Offer
Through devotionals, video teachings, journaling prompts, and heartfelt community, Hope in the Holidays offers you a safe place to process your emotions, connect with God, and discover moments of peace and gratitude. This isn’t about “fixing” your grief or pretending it doesn’t exist. Instead, it’s about creating space for you to experience God’s love and faithfulness as you take each step forward.
Why This Matters
I know the holidays can feel like a minefield of emotions, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, isolated, and forgotten. But friend, you are not alone. Hope in the Holidays is here to remind you that grief and joy can coexist, that your loved one’s memory matters and that God is walking with you every step of the way.
As we walk this journey together, I pray you’ll find moments of rest for your soul, healing for your heart, and hope for the future.
You are seen. You are loved. And there is hope, even in the holidays.
With love and compassion, Shonta Rogers
