All About Us

Hey there, I am Shonta!

This is my story...

I never planned to walk this road. One day, I was a wife, a dreamer, building a life with the man I loved, and in an instant, everything changed. When my husband went home to be with the Lord, I felt like my heart was split wide open. The silence was deafening. The future I’d pictured was gone, and I didn’t recognize the woman staring back at me in the mirror.

But even in the ache, God met me there. He didn’t rush my healing; He held me through it. Slowly, He began to whisper truth back into my soul, that I was still chosen, still called, still loved, and that my story wasn’t over.

Audacious Widow was born from that sacred rebuilding, a space where faith meets grief, and where women like you and me can breathe again. I’ve walked this valley, Sister, and I know the strength it takes just to get up and keep going. If I can find hope again, so can you.

This isn’t the end of your story — it’s the beginning of your becoming.

So tell me...

Does any of this sound familiar?

You are standing at a crossroads you never asked to face. The house feels quieter now, and though you smile when needed, your heart carries a constant ache. You’re doing your best to hold everything together, but inside you feel weary, grieving the life you built, unsure how to move forward, and wondering who you are now that the person who knew you best is gone.

You may wrestle with loneliness, guilt, or moments when your faith feels fragile. Some days, you feel caught between missing the past and fearing the future. The routines that once brought comfort now feel hollow, and you wonder if you’ll ever feel whole again.

Yet deep down, you still believe there must be more. You long to feel peace again, to laugh without guilt, to wake up with purpose, to rediscover your identity in Christ. You want to rebuild a life that honors your husband’s memory, but also allows your heart to heal and bloom in new ways.

Your heart is tender right now, open but guarded, searching for meaning in the middle of your pain. You’re ready to take small, faithful steps toward healing, but you need a safe place to land and someone who truly understands the ache.

That’s why Audacious Widow exists: to remind you that healing is holy, your story still matters, and your future is far from over.

WE TOTALLY GET IT.

Why I Started Audacious Widow

I started Audacious Widow because I couldn’t find a place that spoke to both my heartbreak and my hope. So many grief spaces focused on surviving, but my spirit longed to live again, to rediscover who I was in Christ beyond the loss. I wanted to create a community where widows could feel seen, understood, and gently guided toward healing, purpose, and joy.

This space was built for women like you, Sister, women who are learning to breathe again, dream again, and believe that God still has beautiful plans ahead. Audacious Widow is more than a ministry; it’s a movement of grace, courage, and faith rising from the ashes.

We strive to be different

& We Have Proven That We Are.

Vision Statement

To see every widow live audaciously — healed, whole, and anchored in her identity in Christ. We envision a global sisterhood of women who have turned their pain into purpose, their mourning into ministry, and their loss into legacy — walking boldly in the truth that God still has beautiful plans for their lives.

Purpose Statement

We exist to remind widows that healing is holy, hope is possible, and life after loss can still be rich with meaning. Audacious Widow is more than a community; it’s a movement calling women to rise again, grow in faith, and embrace the next chapter with strength, sisterhood, and divine confidence.

Our Mission is Simple...

To create a faith-filled refuge where widowed empty-nest widows can heal, rebuild, and rediscover their God given purpose. Through biblical encouragement, community support, and practical tools for emotional and spiritual renewal, Audacious Widow empowers women to rise from grief with grace, courage, and confidence, knowing their story still matters and their purpose is not finished.
